Palace v Spurs - team news

Mauricio Pochettino will conduct a full assessment of the players involved in Wednesday night’s FA Cup third round replay win at Leicester City before deciding on his 18-man squad for Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.
The Head Coach was this morning (Thursday, January 21) hopeful that no fresh injury concerns would arise in the aftermath of our 2-0 win at the King Power Stadium – a match that saw him make eight changes to the side that beat Sunderland 4-1 last week.
He did, however, confirm that Ryan Mason (ankle) remains sidelined for the trip to Selhurst Park, along with Clinton Njie (knee) and Alex Pritchard (ankle).
“Ryan Mason is still out and we need to assess the players after the FA Cup game against Leicester,” he explained. “We hope that there are not any issues for Saturday but after playing on Wednesday it’s important to assess the players and know that they are in condition to be ready and compete at the weekend.”
On the issue of selecting his team to face Palace after back-to-back victories in which a number of players have staked a claim for a place in the side, Mauricio added: “We are very pleased and happy to have 24 or 25 players who deserve to play.
“It’s my job to select the right players in every game to try to win the game. It’s always difficult but at the end we are very happy because it’s important to keep all the squad motivated and fit. I think that increases our level.
“Always it’s about the team, it’s about a collective effort and I think if we want to achieve something at the end of the season, every single player will be very important for us. We want to keep the spirit that we have and that we show in every game.”
