Pair start as U21s held

Danny Rose and Kyle Walker started again as England Under-21s fought out a 0-0 draw against Ukraine in the European Championships on Wednesday night.

Danny Rose and Kyle Walker started again as England Under-21s fought out a 0-0 draw against Ukraine in the European Championships on Wednesday night.

It was a frustrating night for Stuart Pearce's men in Herning, Denmark as they tried to follow up Sunday's 1-1 draw against Spain.

Pearce switched from a 4-4-2 to a 4-3-3 formation against Ukraine with Danny starting on the left of the front three and Kyle in his usual right-back slot.

Chances were few and far between. Chelsea's Daniel Sturridge rattled the crossbar in the first half and United's Danny Welbeck fired the best chance of the match wide in the second half.

Kyle played the full 90 minutes, Danny was substituted after 58 minutes.

The draw means England must now beat the Czech Republic in their final group match on Sunday to progress to the semi-finals.

Spain beat the Czech Republic 2-0 on Wednesday to move top of the group on four points. The Czech Republic are second on three points having beaten Ukraine in their opener.
