Paul Stalteri admits he is in the midst of a frustrating period at the moment. The 29-year-old suffered medial ligament damage in the Carling Cup clash against MK Dons on October 25, ruling the full-back out of Martin Jol's immediate plans during this busy period.
"I am still probably a few weeks away from regaining full fitness, but it has come along well in the last week or so," reported the Canadian international, who can't pinpoint the particular incident in which he sustained the injury. "It is a lot more positive now and I will hopefully be back in training soon.
"It was a strange one in the sense that I don't really recall what happened. I don't think I took a whack, but the ligaments in the knee were strained. I've had it before so I knew exactly what it was after it happened.
"At the beginning of the season I suffered with injury, got myself fit and now this. With all the games we have been playing I imagine there would have been a couple of opportunities to play so this has been very frustrating.
"Hopefully this will be the end of it and I can push on and get involved towards the Christmas period and help out the team whenever I can. There will be plenty of games this season if we keep going in the cups and we could easily break 50-55 games, it is just a matter of being fit at the right times."
