Australia Spurs report a boom in membership since the announcement of our friendly against Sydney FC on Saturday, May 30.

We take on the Australian A-League side at the iconic ANZ Stadium as part of Sydney’s celebrations of culture and sport.

Our Australian-based official supporters club, Australia Spurs, known as OzSpurs, were naturally thrilled at the news that we're travelling Down Under for the fixture.

"Spurs coming to Sydney is an absolute dream come true," said OzSpurs spokesman Tommy Silver.

"Since OzSpurs started in the late 90s/early 2000s, we’ve always hoped that it would happen.

"It is something our committee and members have spoken about at great lengths, 'one day they’ll come!' and now the team is coming, we’re going to make sure the whole of Australia knows about Tottenham Hotspur!

"Getting to the Lane is hugely expensive and sadly unrealistic for many Spurs fans in Australia. Now, those who are so dedicated to getting up in the early hours of the morning to watch a game will get the chance to see the players first-hand."

OzSpurs represents our support in the vast nation of Australia.

The club has many 'chapters' that sees Spurs fans linked together in Adelaide, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth and Sydney.

Every year, members from these chapters get together for the 'Australia Spurs National', where hundreds of fans from all around Australia meet over a weekend to talk Spurs, play five-a-side, tour the host city's pubs and watch a game.

OzSpurs membership currently stands at an impressive 1,500 - the club also has over 3,500 followers on Twitter and 6,500 fans on Facebook.
