Out with a bang in SF
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Duncan Tappy and Tottenham Hotspur Racing Team were back on the podium in the final round of the Superleague Formula motor-racing championship - but the finale in Jerez, Spain, perfectly summed up the team's up and down series.
Duncan produced a fantastic drive to take the car from ninth to fourth and was then promoted to third when Corinthians were handed a 30-second punishment in race one.
However, in the second and final race of the series, the car suffered gearbox problems and was forced to retire.
The weekend kicked-off with Duncan ninth in Saturday's qualifying and therefore starting race one on Sunday from the fifth row of the grid.
With 34,000 fans packed into the circuit, Duncan fought his way up to fourth before that Corinthians penalty - for taking a compulsory pit stop outside the prescribed window between 8-20 laps - saw him back on the podium for the third time this season.
AC Milan won the first race with Porto in second and as Duncan retired early from race two, Borussia Dortmund took first followed by Corinthians and Beijing Guoan.
Duncan commented: "I don't know if I actually expected to end up on the podium after starting ninth but I'll take it.
"I was having a good race and the team came on the radio and told me I was fourth - then as I was coming into the pits after the race they told me I was actually third!
"I was over the moon and it was really good to get a result for Tottenham again.
"In the second race we had a gear selection problem and it got to the stage where I could not change up a gear. It got so bad that it would not work so I had to bring it in.
"The season in general has been great and I have enjoyed every minute of it.
"It is so different. It has been a breath of fresh air for motorsport and I am hoping I am going to be involved in it again.
"I have proved that when the car is right we are on the money."
