Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

After a 0-0 draw with Manchester City last weekend, Spurs fans could be forgiven for thinking that luck was finally turning their way. Despite the opposition carving out a myriad of chances, a combination of good fortune, last-ditch defending and excellent goalkeeping by Kasey Keller kept City at bay.

Now Tottenham entertain Everton, a team who have never won at White Hart Lane in the Premiership. Spurs have won seven and drawn four of the 11 clashes in N17 since 1992 and the last four meetings have seen 19 goals shared between the two sides. However, despite their excellent record, Spurs have never won this fixture by more than one goal, which illustrates that it is always a tight and often entertaining affair.

Spurs’ major problem this season has been scoring though. Just five goals in seven games means only Wolves have scored fewer and with the second-worst shooting accuracy in the division after Dave Jones’ side, it is easy to see where the problem lies.

In comparison, Everton have the fifth-best shooting accuracy and this has helped the Toffees to a couple of impressive wins, not least the 4-0 drubbing of Leeds United last weekend. Their only defeats this season have come against Middlesbrough, Arsenal and Liverpool and while they haven’t quite maintained the form that saw David Moyes voted Manager of the Year for 2002-03, Everton are still a dangerous opponent.

Duncan Ferguson was back on the scoresheet last weekend and with Wayne Rooney, Kevin Campbell, Tomasz Radzinski and on-loan Francis Jeffers vying for a starting-berth, the Toffees have plenty of options.

Spurs should also be content with the quality of their quartet of strikers, but Frederic Kanoute has scored four of the five Premiership goals this season and needs his fellow front-men to start scoring soon. Spurs have failed to score in nine of their last 18 matches and other than Kanoute, only Robbie Keane, Mauricio Taricco, Jamie Redknapp and Gus Poyet of the current playing staff have found the net in that time.

One win and five defeats at the Lane in their last six home games may see Spurs start a little nervously, but their record against Everton should give them the confidence to overcome those reservations and take another three points against the Toffees.
