OPTA PREVIEW: Leicester City v Tottenham
Tottenham pay their first visit to Leicester’s Walkers Stadium on Sunday hoping to find a greater slice of luck at the Foxes new ground then they had in their previous Premiership visits to Filbert Street.
Spurs managed just the one Premiership win at Leicester’s former home and lost five out of their seven matches there. In fact Tottenham are Leicester’s favourite opponents when they’ve played in the Premiership with the Foxes having recorded more wins against Spurs than against any other side.
This doesn’t bode well for David Pleat against one of the sides he previously managed but he remains unbeaten in his fourth stint in the Tottenham hotseat and confidence should be high after the crushing 3-0 win over Everton.
Leicester meanwhile were hot favourites for the drop before a ball had been kicked this season and little will have changed. They have shown a lot of battling spirit but just one win and five defeats in eight games has left them second from bottom in the table and staring another relegation battle in the face.
Tottenham have struggled on the road recently and although they won at Coventry in the Carling Cup, their last league win on their travels came back in April at the Hawthorns.
