Olympians tell their stories

Fri 20 January 2017, 06:05|Tottenham Hotspur

It’s been a pleasure to welcome a number of Olympic and Paralympic heroes who are fans of the Club to matches this season.

Medallists from the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympic Games – Helen Richardson-Walsh, Matt Gotrel, Rich Hounslow, Richard Whitehead and Pam Relph – all showed off their medals during Champions League matches at Wembley earlier this season.

Last Saturday, Gail Emms, who won badminton silver at Athens in 2004, was joined on the pitch at half-time by two members of Team GB’s Rugby Sevens team that finished runners-up in Rio – James Rodwell and Tom Mitchell.

All spoke about their heroic Olympic performances in front of a packed house at the Lane, as well as telling us the stories of how they became Spurs fans.
