November Hotspur - out now!
For Clint Dempsey it's proved to be a long road to Tottenham. But our USA international firmly believes that the experiences and challenges along the way combine to make him the more complete player that the modern game demands.
Clint is the main interview in the November issue of Hotspur magazine. And, having scored that crucial goal in our historic win at Old Trafford, he is now determined to chip in with even more - no matter what position he plays.
“Ultimately it’s about playing wherever you’re needed to help the team win,” he tells Hotspur. “I wouldn’t really say that I have a favourite position…it’s not something that bothers me.
“I think it makes me more of a complete player in the sense that I can play in a number of roles at the highest level.”
And Clint admits that he is “excited” about the future at Spurs and with the opportunity his recent move presents.
“I didn’t know if such a chance would ever come…but to play for a team that has the quality I’ve found here is a dream come true. To date it’s just been unbelievable - it’s all so professional and definitely has that feeling of being a top club.
“Now it’s about getting down to work and making the most of this great opportunity. Hopefully I can quickly make an impact. That’s the challenge in front of me and one that I’m very much up for.”

Emmanuel Adebayor is as ambitious as ever. And he loves what he has found since his return to White Hart Lane on a permanent basis.
“We’ve got a good team and a good squad,” he says. “We’ve brought in more quality players and the team is very solid.
“Now we just have to keep believing that we can achieve our aim, which is top three. I am not going to call it the top four anymore. We have the quality in the squad, we have the spirit.”
Full-back Kyle Naughton answers the question in our regular ‘Box to Box’ feature as he looks back on his early days in the game and describes the atmosphere at White Hart Lane as “amazing.”
He adds: “Why am I optimistic here? Simply because of the superb squad we have at Tottenham.”
Goalkeeper coach and UEFA Cup hero Tony Parks is also answering questions - but this time from supporters. And not surprisingly many relate to his two penalty saves that won us the trophy on that memorable night at the Lane in 1984.
He also talks about his own favourite goalkeepers, the influence of Peter Shreeves in his early days as an apprentice and names the strikers he always respected. Tony also talks about the most important qualities needed in a modern goalkeeper in a fascinating insight into this key position.
Steven Caulker tells us about his respect for centre-half partner William Gallas and his delight at scoring his first goal for Spurs. He also reveals the confidence surging through our ranks at the moment.
“We’re full of self belief,” he says. “We look at every game with confidence.”
We also present a four-page pictorial look at our new Training Centre on a unique tour that takes readers behind the scenes at our stunning new Enfield home.
Ledley King presents the first of his monthly columns as he pays tribute to an event he never enjoyed in his own outstanding career - a victory at Manchester United. But fellow columnist Ossie Ardiles recalls one in 1979 when he scored the winner - and takes time off from his club’s relegation battle in Japan to pay tribute to the “exceptional” Gareth Bale.
Assistant head coach Steffen Freund is also featured as he talks about life away from the Lane, including his early days growing up in what was then East Berlin. He also answers the all-important parrot question!
On the history side, we reflect on the Scottish influence in our historical 1901 FA Cup triumph. We also feature former players Teemu Tainio and Tim O’Shea and look back on the career of former player and manager Billy Minter.
This month’s celebrity fan is singer-songwriter Lemar who reveals that he is not just a Spurs fan but that there is also a current family connection with the club.
We also publish our official squad photograph for the current season - and one lucky reader has the chance to win a football signed by all our players in our latest free-to-enter competition.
It’s all in the November issue of Hotspur - don’t miss it!
