Norwich v Spurs - Mauricio's preview

02 February 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino says the team is ready to compete again as we face a fourth-successive away match, this time at Norwich in the Premier League this evening (Tuesday, February 2, 7.45pm).

Unbeaten on our travels since the opening day of the season in the Premier League, we’ve beaten Leicester and Colchester in the FA Cup plus Crystal Palace in the league since our last home game against Sunderland on January 16.

Now we face a Canaries side experiencing a rollercoaster campaign.

We won 3-0 against Alex Neil’s men on Boxing Day at the Lane but they responded with wins against Villa and Southampton. However,  they are now on a run of three straight losses with the incredible 5-4 reverse against Liverpool last time out.

Front men Steven Naismith and Patrick Bamford have arrived since our Boxing Day clash and Mauricio is aware of an attacking threat from the team back on their own patch.

“Our mentality is important in every game and we expect a very tough match, Norwich are a very good team fighting for their survival,” said Mauricio.

"They showed real quality to score four goals against Liverpool. Okay, it’s true they conceded five but every game is different.

“You know these games are always difficult but we’re in a good momentum, we need to keep working hard and make sure we’re ready to compete again.”
