Norwich U21s v Spurs - Ugo's preview
15 October 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Ugo Ehiogu wants our Under-21s to show a “high-class work ethic” in tonight’s (Thursday, October 15) trip to Norwich City.
A bumper crowd is expected at Carrow Road as we take on the Canaries in the Barclays Under-21 Premier League in front of the live BT Sport cameras, kick-off 7.45pm.
A combination of injuries and players returning from international duty means Under-21s Coach Ugo is taking a young squad to Norfolk, but he wants those who take to the field to focus on producing the best possible performance and not to let the occasion of playing in front of a large audience adversely affect them.
“I’d imagine Norwich will be very strong and hopefully there will be a nice big crowd like there was last year in this fixture,” he said.
“The players will be wanting to do well and show the television viewers that they can play good quality football, but the hope is that they don’t take too long to come to terms with the big audience.
“Players who are inexperienced generally take a little while to settle down, so we hope they do that as quickly as possible and the minimum I’d expect is for the boys to compete, have a high-class work ethic and do their bit.
“We expect a really competitive game that will test our boys at every level but, even with the players who are stepping in, we know they are good enough so we need to be confident and consistent.”
