No time for negativity, we have to think positively - Heung-Min Son

Mon 04 December 2017, 08:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son says there is no room for negative thoughts as we look to snap out of a tricky run in the Premier League.

The South Korean was on target in Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Watford, a result that made it four league matches without a win.

That’s only half the story though as we came back from conceding an early goal and were in charge when Davinson Sanchez was sent off on 52 minutes. We played 42 minutes with 10 men but defended stoutly and always looked to win. It wasn’t to be.

That’s been the case in our last three matches against West Brom, Leicester and now Watford, where you could argue that possession and chances created warranted more reward. As Mauricio Pochettino explained afterwards, he’s disappointed with results, not performances.

“It’s a tough time but we have to keep it all together,” said Sonny, who took his tally to three goals in the Premier League and five in total this term.

“We are one team with the fans.

“It’s a very important thing that we don’t have to think negatively, we don’t have time for that. We have to think positively and look forward.

“Of course it’s tough. Every team has tough times, but you have to look forward, work hard and the next game, try to get three points.”

Our next Premier League outing is against Stoke City at Wembey Stadium, connected by EE on Saturday (kick-off 3pm). Before then, we complete our successful Champions League Group H campaign against APOEL at Wembley on Wednesday night (7.45pm).
