And the midfielder insists we have to compete every inch of the way against Sam Allardyce's well-drilled team who arrive in N17 with back-to-back wins against Wigan and Newcastle.
"We know what Blackburn are all about, they are compact and well-organised," said Tom.
"It will be difficult but if we can keep the ball moving, with the players we've got in attacking areas, we should be able to break them down.
"First and foremost we'll have to match their work rate and tempo and hopefully then the quality we've got will shine through and we'll win the game.
"I think if we get an early goal teams then have to come out and that's when we're at our best. The start is so important.
"It's still tight in the league so regardless of what team we play, our home games are vital."
