No panic - Ade

Emmanuel Adebayor had a new experience in a Spurs shirt in our 3-1 win at West Brom.

Emmanuel Adebayor had a new experience in our 3-1 win at West Brom.

Youseff Mulumbu headed the home team into a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute and that goal represented the first time both Emmanuel and Scott Parker had trailed in a match as Spurs players.

Emmanuel insisted that the belief was there all along that we'd recover to take the three points - and he scored twice as we did just that.

'Ade' got us back into the game when he followed in his saved penalty in the 26th minute and after creating a host of chances in the second half, his clever flick sent Jermain Defoe away to drill home for 2-1 with nine minutes remaining.

Emmanuel then put the issue beyond any doubt with his second goal for 3-1 deep into injury time.

The nature of the win highlighted the confidence of the squad as we stretched our run to nine wins and a draw in our last 10 matches in the Premier League.

"We all know what we can do," said Ade. "You could see when they scored that no-one panicked, we told ourselves to keep going, to keep the belief that we could come back and win.

"Even going behind didn't affect us because we’ve got the capacity to come back and win the game and that’s what we did.

"It’s always good to show team spirit, character and personality. This win said a lot of things.

"I think even if we’re 1-0, 2-0 down, we could come back and win because we have the ability and belief to come back.

"To do it in an away game is good for us. At home, we can do it, we know that, but to do it away, all I can say is congratulations to the team."
