Andros Townsend says we shouldn’t pay too much attention to Newcastle United’s current league position ahead of our meeting with the Magpies.
Our visitors to the Lane are perched in the Premier League’s bottom three heading into Sunday’s 1.30pm kick-off.
They picked up a morale-boosting victory over Leicester City last time out, however, with Andros insisting they’ll be no pushovers as we look to build on Thursday’s 5-1 Europa League victory over Asteras Tripolis.
“Newcastle are going to be battling for the points,” said the England international. “Look at QPR – they're a couple of points behind Newcastle but they played against Liverpool, who are in the Champions League, on Sunday and almost got a point.
“It doesn’t matter who you’re playing, you always know it’s going to be a difficult match and you have to be at your best on the day to get the three points.”
