Newcastle U18s 0-4 Spurs - Alex's delight at fine start

Our Under-18s toppled Newcastle 4-0 in their Premier Academy League opener on Saturday.

Goals from Laste Dombaxe (14mins) and Shaq Coulthirst (32) put the team in the driving seat at half-time, Kenneth McEvoy made it 3-0 three minutes into the second half and Darren McQueen completed the scoring with four minutes remaining.

"In the first half we were particularly good, we controlled the game and dominated," reported coach Alex.

"We created lots of chances and played in a free-flowing style.

"We went 1-0- up when Laste Dombaxe curled a free-kick over the wall and the second goal was a great team goal, started at the back, Dominic Ball drove forward and fed in Shaq, who scored.

"We went 3-0 up early in the second half, more good build-up play before Ruben Lameiras played in Kenny McEvoy who finished well from the left.

"Luke McGee then did really well to save a penalty, delighted for him and the fourth goal came from a break and Darren McQueen got in one-on-one and finished well.

"It was a pleasing performance all-round."

Spurs U18s: McGee, A McQueen, Ball, Gardiner (Ogilvie, 74), Smith, Dombaxe, Lameiras, Winks, D McQueen, McEvoy (Zapata-Caicedo, 86), Coulthirst.
