Nacer Chadli followed Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen into double-figures in the Premier League with his equaliser at Southampton.
The attacking midfielder latched onto Eric Dier’s pass to finish confidently as we came from behind twice to secure a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s.
Erik Lamela cancelled out Graziano Pelle’s opener in the first half, Pelle headed the Saints back into the lead on 65 minutes before Nacer struck five minutes later and that was the end of the scoring.
“I was focused, saw the goal and hit the ball towards the far post,” said Nacer on his goal, his 12th in all competitions this term. “You need a bit of luck as well, but I hit it towards a good position.
“I’m happy to score, especially because it was an important goal to get us a point in a difficult game.
“Overall we’re disappointed because we wanted to win here but a draw isn’t a bad result. We played our best football after they scored and showed good mentality to come back twice.
“That’s a positive but we have to keep working hard to finish the season with wins.”
