Moyes on facing a 'really good team' and Hammers' team news

04 January 2018|Tottenham Hotspur

West Ham manager David Moyes has called for his players to show the same desire that saw them secure a late 2-1 win against West Brom on Tuesday when the Hammers come to Wembley tonight (Thursday 4 January).

Andy Carroll's stoppage-time goal scooped maximum points for our London rivals at the London Stadium earlier this week, boosting their battle to get away from the Premier League's drop zone.

Speaking ahead of this evening’s derby, Moyes said: “Spurs have got a really good team.

“It will be hard work for us but we will go there with the same spirit, same attitude and same determination we’ve had in all our games. You never know."

Of course, both teams were in action just 48 hours ago and it remains to be seen who will feature on the pitch tonight.

Speaking about his own squad, Moyes said: “I’m hoping (Aaron) Cresswell’s injury doesn’t keep him out because we’re pretty short in both full-back areas. Until we have got both Sam Byram and Jose Fonte back we’re a bit short defensively.

“Reece Oxford kicked the ground in training and has sprained his ankle. He probably might not be fit for (tonight), that’s my first thought. The biggest thing is I don’t have many changes and I don’t have lots of players. I’ve got some forward players I could change around but I don’t have many players in other positions. I’m not carrying any more players.”

Kick-off is at 8pm tonight.
