Mousa previews Newcastle clash

Mousa Dembele says we take on Newcastle United in confident mood after Thursday’s dramatic win over Asteras Tripolis.

Two goals from Erik Lamela and a Harry Kane hat-trick saw us topple the Greek side 5-1 in the Europa League – a perfect springboard heading into Sunday’s Premier League clash with the Magpies.

Alan Pardew’s side also won last time out, beating Leicester City by a single goal, but midfielder Mousa believes we’re in good shape heading into the second of three home games in six days.

“It’s a very important game for us this weekend,” he said. “It’s important for us to win, and we can take confidence from Thursday night.

“We’ve been playing some good football and the goals came very easily against Asteras, although obviously every game is different.

“But I think we go into Sunday with a good feeling now.”

On Thursday’s European victory, Mousa – who played the full 90 minutes – added: “It was a strange game. It’s always difficult to play against a team like this because you can’t underestimate them, but from the beginning we tried to play our own game and we did well.”
