Mousa Dembele visited a Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice charity shop in Barnet yesterday (Thursday, March 2) to volunteer for the Club’s Official Charity Partner.

The two-year partnership sees the Club help raise awareness of North London’s only ‘Hospice at Home’ service and drives the recruitment of volunteers via high profile events and the support of first team players.

The Club is celebrating the first year of its Official Charity Partnership at this Sunday’s match with Everton at the Lane and ahead of the fixture, the Belgian international gave up his time to support the cause. He spent the afternoon helping other volunteers working in the shop, sorting through donated items of clothing and serving delighted customers.

Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice provides clinical, emotional and practical care and support to children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, with the aim of enabling them to live life as fully as possible, regardless of cognitive or sensory ability. The charity also offers respite and support to families, helping them to face the future with hope after bereavement.

The charity has three shops in North London which are used to raise funds through the sales of donated goods to help Noah’s Ark continue to deliver its vital work across the boroughs of Barnet, Enfield, Haringey, Islington, Camden and Hertsmere.

Mousa said: “It’s great to be able to show my support for such a worthy cause and hear some of the amazing stories of how the charity has helped children and their families.

“As players we have a responsibility to set a good example and hopefully it will encourage others to come along and volunteer too.”
