More to come
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Glenn Hoddle insists there is plenty more to come from his Premiership table-toppers.
We hit the summit after four games when Teddy Sheringham's injury time penalty finally sunk Southampton at the Lane on Saturday.
But the boss was quick to admit 'the performance wasn't great' but explained that winning under those circumstances - thinking back to the Villa game as well - was a positive sign for the club.
Glenn explained: "We haven't had signs that we've seen this season for I'd have thought about 20 years at this club.
"Last season we picked up no points after playing really well and I think very quickly I can see a real progression from the team because there is more to come.
"There is a lot of quality outside the 11 that went out there. We haven't played anywhere near like I know can but we're grafting, working hard, there's a great spirit and we're taking our chances when we get them."
We started brightly against the Saints, got the early goal from Les Ferdinand but failed to cash in on that early dominance and the visitors came more and more into the game.
They levelled before the break and chances came at both ends before Steffen Iversen's goalbound effort was handled by Michael Svensson in injury time and skipper Teddy made no mistake.
Glenn added: "The performance wasn't great. I thought we could perhaps win the game in the first 20 minutes and when we went 1-0 up, that was disappointing because when you have a team on the rack, which we certainly did, we should have gone on and punished them.
"I don't know, I think it was something mental. We took our foot off the pedal and all the hard work we put in went out of the window for a long period and Southampton will feel they deserved at least a point.
"I thought they had opportunities when they could have got the winner, which is a concern. We had chances and when the ball hit the post, that's when I was thinking 'is it our day' but we got the penalty from it.
"We've had some good breaks at the right time and Teddy kept his head. He had to wait a long time for the boy to go off but credit to him, he steered into the bottom corner. It was a great time to score."
