Monaco v Spurs - travel information
30 September 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Travel advice and information for fans travelling to Monaco for our Europa League, Group J fixture on Thursday night (October 1).
We kick-off at 7pm local time, 6pm UK.
STADE LOUIS II
Ligue 1 side AS Monaco’s stadium is Stade Louis II in the Fontvielle district of Monaco.
Originally opened in 1939, the stadium was re-built in the early 1980s, opening fully in 1985. It has a capacity of 18,523 and from 1998-2012 was the venue for UEFA’s annual Super Cup match between the winners of the Champions League and Europa League.
Spurs fans will be located in Sector H, which has excellent catering and welfare facilities.
Fans will be searched prior to entry by local Police. As always, THFC Stewards will be on hand to ‘meet and greet’ and to assist with any problems.
The location has excellent sight lines although there is a running track around the pitch.
The usual prohibited items will apply and in particular, please be aware that lighters will be removed prior to entry. THFC Stewards will have envelopes and will retain these throughout the match to be collected at the end. As always we would ask you to abide by the regulations at the stadium and please feel free approach a THFC Steward for any advice on the night.
Flags and banners are welcome, but will be checked on entry. It is common policy and normal ground rules at football stadia in the UK and elsewhere in Europe that flags of an overtly religious/sectarian/political nature will not be permitted and may be confiscated - please respect this request.
A decision will be taken on the night as to whether or not fans will be held back and you should listen for any announcements which may affect you.
We are rightly proud of our good behaviour during previous European travels and we would ask that you uphold this by respecting local amenities and cultures.
Please do not place flags and banners on any buildings as this may cause offence.
Supporters can catch a direct train to Monaco from Nice St Augustin station, which is within walking distance (approximately 15 minutes) of Terminal 1 at Nice airport. Alternatively, fans can catch a bus from Nice Airport that will take them to within a five-minute walk of Nice St Augustin station.
The rail fare to Monaco from Nice St Augustin will be fractionally more expensive than from Nice Ville station.
Return train times to Nice are 21:24, 22:16 and the last train will leave Monaco at 23:07.
Remember, we kick-off at 7pm local time, so the match is scheduled to finish at approximately 9pm.
