Moment I won't forget - Harry

Sun 02 November 2014, 23:10|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane was overjoyed after hitting our late winner at Villa on Sunday.

“This is a special moment, one I won’t forget,” said the young striker after curling home a free-kick in the 89th minute to clinch the three points at Villa Park.

Harry arrived off the bench on the hour mark with us trailing 1-0 having certainly created as many chances at the home team but fallen behind to Andreas Weimann's goal on 16 minutes.

Minutes after Harry's introduction, Christian Benteke was sent off and we finally found the equaliser on 84 minutes when Nacer Chadli converted from Erik Lamela’s corner.

It was all set-up for a grand finale against Villa’s 10 men and Harry delivered in the last minutes after Andros Townsend was upended by Carlos Sanchez. Harry stepped up and his free-kick flicked off the wall and flew into the top corner, leaving Brad Guzan stranded.

It was Harry’s ninth goal in 13 appearances and first in the Premier League this term.

“Goals change games and we knew if we got that first goal it would put them on the back foot and the second goal wouldn’t be far away,” added t he 21-year-old.

“Luckily we had enough time to get the second and take home the three points.

“I feel great. I just want to contribute to the team, we dug deep and I’m really proud of that. The most important thing is that we got the win.”
