MLS 15 - USA love for All-Star games - DeAndre
29 July 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
DeAndre Yedlin knows exactly how the MLS All-Stars will feel as they pull on their shirts ahead of the league’s showcase event against us in Colorado.
The young defender played in the 2013 and 2014 All-Star Games for the MLS as he made his breakthrough at Seattle Sounders.
In 2013, DeAndre was the first MLS rookie to be named in the All-Star squad since 2005 and he came off the bench in the second half of a 3-1 loss against Roma.
Last year, he was back in the squad and started in the MLS’s memorable 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich.
“It’s a big honour, especially as a younger player, to be named one of the best players in the league and to be able to play against one of the top teams in the world,” said DeAndre, who has joined our squad after playing for the USA in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.
“It’s interesting to see it from the other side now, but fun as well.
“It’s a game everyone looks forward to. It’s the All-Stars and in any sport in America, we all look forward to All-Star games. I know those guys will be excited.”

Asked for the dangermen on the MLS side, DeAndre added: “The headline guys are Kaka, Villa, Giovinco and Dempsey. Those are the players to look out for and they can all pull something out of the hat.
“But we have to be aware of all the players. They all have quality.
“Everyone is excited and it will be a great atmosphere. It’s always a good game and it should be the same this time around.”WATCH THE GAME LIVE ON SPURS TV!
