MLS 15 - Ledley and Brad become Outlaws for the day!
29 July 2015|Tottenham Hotspur
Former team-mates and current Ambassadors, Ledley King and Brad Friedel, were reunited in Denver on Tuesday – but perhaps not as you’d expect!
The pair swapped their boots and gloves for rackets, and the Lilywhite of Tottenham Hotspur for the orange and navy of the Denver Outlaws, five-time Major League Lacrosse Championship finalists.
Lacrosse is one of North America’s fastest growing sports, with the object of the game being to use a long handled racket, known as a lacrosse stick or crosse, to catch, carry, and pass a solid rubber ball in an effort to score by ultimately hurling the ball into an opponent's goal.
Outlaws play their home matches at the impressive Sports Authority Field, also home to NFL giants Denver Broncos, and it was there where our Ambassadors met up with two stalwarts of the side that won last year’s title.
Jeremy Sieverts and John Grant Jnr, widely recognised as one of the sport’s all-time greats, gave Ledley and Brad a crash course in the game of lacrosse, as well as a tour of their home dressing room.
In return, Sieverts and Grant Jnr were presented with their very own Tottenham Hotspur shirts, and both are set to cheer us on in Wednesday night’s MLS All-Stars match at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Ledley and Brad were quite the ticket in Denver on Tuesday, with Brad appearing on the Fox network’s popular Daybreak show (pictured, below) and Ledley having a chat about all things Spurs on Mile High Sports radio to promote our upcoming match.
