MLS 15 - busy day in Colorado

29 July 2015|Tottenham Hotspur

Six members of our squad stopped by at one of our Global Coaching sessions in Colorado on Tuesday afternoon.

Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele, Erik Lamela, Federico Fazio, Michel Vorm and young goalkeeper Tom Glover got involved in a special coaching session designed not only to develop the skills of young players in the area, but also to provide new ideas and information to local coaches to help them in their own endeavours going forward.

Coaches from around 10 clubs in Colorado attended the event at Adams City High School to watch our Global Coaching team, as well as the players in attendance, work with 13- to 16-year-olds from nearby FC Boulder and Broomfield Soccer Club in partnership with

Our Dutch international goalkeeper Michel said: “It’s great to see that the young players here are enjoying what they’re doing. They’re really trying to listen and do what our coaches are teaching them and it’s good for representatives of other teams to be here and to see how our coaches work. I think this is very important for the future of football here in the States.”

Elsewhere on Tuesday afternoon, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Dele Alli, Josh Onomah and Tom Carroll were greeted by hundreds of fans at a special Q&A and signing session at Dick’s Sporting Goods store in Lakewood, Colorado, supported by our Technical Partner, Under Armour.

Club Ambassador and former goalkeeper Brad Friedel hosted the event, quizzing the players on a variety of subjects before inviting questions for the players from supporters in attendance.

The group then spent time signing autographs for fans as excitement continues to build ahead of Wednesday night’s match against the MLS All-Stars at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver.
