Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Chris Hughton says he has enjoyed his brief return to reserve team football, but will now make way for Clive Allen to take charge.
Chris was reserve team coach until he was seconded to first team duty following the appointment of Glenn Hoddle. He recently made a two-game return due to the departure of his replacement Colin Calderwood to Northampton in order to ease Clive into the role he will temporarily fill.
"It is actually a nice feeling and I have enjoyed the last two games," said Chris of the encounters with Watford and Wimbledon. "What will happen now is that Clive will take over - we don't play now for another week so we're hoping that he will take the next game."
The first team coach does feel that his short spell back with the second string has helped in familiarising himself with the next generation of young players coming through the ranks - working directly with them as opposed to watching their progress on match nights.
"It has bought short-term benefit for me and, I must admit, I especially enjoyed the Wimbledon game. There is no doubt that you do see a different game down at ground level than what you see in the stands. You are able to get a bit more involved and get a feel for what is going on on the park.
"I have now worked closer with the boys and have seen Lee Barnard, Mark Yeates, Paul O'Donoghue and Mark Hughes doing well along with the more senior lads who have played more games."
Chris suspects that the young forwards at the club like Barnard, Yeates and Jamie Slabber will benefit from the striking expertise Clive will offer in his coaching.
"I think so. There is no doubt about it, Clive was a quality striker and, perhaps even moreso, a quality finisher. Even from a respect point of view, the lads will know of or have seen Clive in action.
"From a club viewpoint, it is great to have him on board and any influence he can have on the strikers will be a good one. It is not just about the strikers though, you have somebody that has a knowledge of the game and is very keen on the coaching aspect.
"He has had an involvement with the young England sides so should bring plenty to our young reserves."
