Mills off the mark
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Leigh Mills opened his goalscoring account for the club and left the right impression with development coach Clive Allen as a young Spurs XI side toppled Harlow Town on Wednesday night.
Our summer recruit from Swindon Town powered home a header to open the scoring 10 minutes into the second half before Andy Barcham clinched victory five minutes later.
"Leigh's been on England duty, played a couple of games and looked sharp," said Clive. "He lined-up alongside Paul O'Donoghue and the pair looked very comfortable.
"He has an excellent attitude and looks like he's got a big future ahead."
Clive was delighted with the performance. "We played very well on a tricky pitch," he added.
"Leigh put us 1-0 up about 10 minutes into the second half with a near post header from a corner after a good delivery from Owen Price.
"We worked the second goal well, good movement down the right and another cross from Owen that Andy Barcham finished well.
"Basically we controlled the game, passed it well and could have scored a couple more with Michael Malcolm and Jack Maghoma both working the keeper.
"Overall it was definitely an improvement, the lads looked stronger and fitter."
