Midweek loan watch - winning start for Jon

Jon Obika made the first appearance of his loan spell at Charlton Athletic on Tuesday night, helping his side claim maximum points in the Championship.

Our striker, who also had a spell with the Addicks last term, returned to The Valley earlier this week and wasted no time in getting back in the thick of the action as his side enjoyed a 1-0 win against Bournemouth.

Having come on as a substitute four minutes before half-time, Jon tested Bournemouth stopper Lee Camp with a fierce shot from 18 yards out.

He then set up Jordan Cousins to try a shot in the second period, but it was ultimately a late strike from Dorian Dervite that sealed the win for Charlton.

Tom Carroll also saw action in the Championship on Tuesday, coming on for the remaining seven minutes of Queens Park Rangers’ 3-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.

And it was a similarly disappointing evening for goalkeeper Jonathan Miles, who played for Whitehawk as they were beaten 4-1 by Skrill Conference South leaders Eastleigh.
