Midweek loan watch - update

28 August 2014|Tottenham Hotspur

Grant Hall went up against a Premier League side in the second round of the Capital One Cup on Wednesday evening.

Our defender, on loan with Championship outfit Birmingham City, lined up for the Blues as they played host to Sunderland.

The home side held Gus Poyet’s team for the majority of the game, but three goals in the final 13 minutes saw Sunderland secure a 3-0 win and progress into the third round. Grant played the full 90 minutes.

Elsewhere, two of our loanees made their competitive debuts for their respective clubs in the second round of the competition on Tuesday evening.

Tom Carroll played 90 minutes for Swansea City as they beat Rotherham United 1-0, the midfielder having linked up with the Swans at the end of last week.

Meanwhile, Jordan Archer was between the sticks for Northampton Town for the first time – although he endured a tough night as his side slipped to a 3-0 defeat at Bournemouth.
