Midweek loan watch - update

05 December 2013|Tottenham Hotspur

Tom Carroll returned to action for Queens Park Rangers in their 3-0 win against Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

Our on-loan midfielder had been sidelined since October 15, when he picked up an ankle injury on duty for England Under-21s.

But he was restored to Rangers’ starting line-up for Tuesday evening’s outing in the Championship and came through the full 90 minutes along with our on-loan left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

Rangers’ victory saw them move level on points with Leicester City at the top of the Championship standings.

Elsewhere in the Championship, Bongani Khumalo played 90 minutes for Doncaster Rovers as they drew 1-1 at Birmingham City.

Simon Dawkins started for Derby County in their 2-1 home victory against Middlesbrough in the Championship on Wednesday evening.

The forward was withdrawn with 14 minutes remaining, with the Rams scooping all three points thanks to goals just before half- and full-time.

Meanwhile, Jake Livermore played 90 minutes for Hull City as they slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal in the Premier League.

Chances were few and far between for Steve Bruce’s men, with Jake having probably their best chance to score in the second half when he gathered a loose ball and surged forward before unleashing a shot which forced Gunners goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny into making a stop.
