On-loan defender Bongani Khumalo was in action for Colchester United on Tuesday night.

The 28-year-old centre-half completed the full 90 minutes of his side’s 1-1 home draw with Swindon Town.

The result meant Colchester missed the chance to move out of the League One relegation zone and sit a point adrift of safety with one game to play.

Elsewhere on Tuesday night, Tomislav Gomelt returned to FC Bari’s matchday squad in Italy after a spell on the sidelines because of injury. He was an unused substitute as his side battled out a goalless draw at Carpi in Serie B.
