Mido's dream

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Mido is dreaming of a goalscoring debut in front of a packed White Hart Lane on Saturday.

The Egyptian striker was an unused substitute at Bolton before playing his first game in a Spurs shirt in Wednesday's private friendly win against Northampton Town.

He is now hoping to play a part and make the perfect start in the Barclays Premiership when we entertain Portsmouth at the Lane on Saturday.

"After one week I'm happy I made the decision to come here," said Mido, snapped up on an 18-month loan from Roma. "I hope I can continue well and I'm dreaming of scoring a goal in my first game.

"You know when you go to a new club the first impression in the first game is very important and the first goal is important for confidence.

"I hope myself and my team-mates can do something because we need to get back to winning ways. We all want to win on Saturday and I hope I can play a part and score."

Mido played 45 minute against Colin Calderwood's Northampton side at Spurs Lodge. Fellow striker and new arrival Mounir El Hamdaoui scored both goals in a 2-0 win.

"It was good for me," he added. "I needed a game like that for my conditioning. I'm happy I completed it without an injury because these games can be tough and lots of young guys, very motivated so I'm happy with how it went.

"I didn't feel tired, I felt fine and I could have done more but the coach only wanted 45 minutes.

"I travelled to Bolton with the team and the guys are great, they've helped me settle in, I've done that as fast as I can and I've no problems. I'm very happy with the atmosphere of the club and the team."
