Michel Vorm didn't have to think twice.
“At the moment, it has to be the biggest game of the season,” said the goalkeeper as he previewed tonight’s Capital One Cup semi-final, second leg against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
“For every player there is a huge opportunity to go and play in a major final in an amazing stadium with an incredible atmosphere. It’s all for the club and the fans.”
The players were left impressed by the Blades’ organisation after the first leg at the Lane which we won 1-0 thanks to Andros Townsend’s penalty.
“They defended very well and to be honest we have a lot of respect for them,” said Michel. “We couldn’t break them down and we didn’t create too many big chances.
“We tried especially in the second half to put the pressure on a little bit more but you also have to keep in mind that you don’t want to concede.”
But the feeling is the second leg will be a different prospect with the Blades needing to score.
“They need to attack because they need to win,” added Michel. “It could open up for us and we need to take advantage of the space if we can. We also know it won’t be easy and we’ll need to play at the top of our game to get a result.”
