Michael's lively start

Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).

Michael Brown has had an eventful few weeks since pulling on a Spurs shirt for the first time against Liverpool on January 17.

The midfield recruit from Sheffield United actually joined on the opening of the transfer window, but a suspension saw to it that he was kicking his heels for a couple of weeks before finally kicking into action.

So far, he has featured in some incredible games - most memorable, although not all for the right reasons. His debut against the Anfield outfit was a fantastic occasion marked with a superb win before we travelled to Manchester City and a sound second half display earned the team a replay that few will forget.

Before that night there was the narrow reverse against Fulham at Loftus Road where Michael conceded a penalty that wasn't when he was adjudged to have tripped Louis Boa Morte, but the offence clearly took place outside the area. Then there was the City replay and the beginning of a sequence that saw the team involved in three games that produced 20 goals.

As introductions to life at new club go, this one has been lively...

"It has and it's been great," considered Michael. "I'm just glad to have got the shirt on, got playing and I am enjoying my football. I was out for a while, a bit uncertain of what was happening while I was still at United, but now I can just get on with playing which is what I enjoy.

"Liverpool was a great game, it was my debut and to get a result made it a fantastic day. Looking at the other games, Man City was probably my poorest game, it was eventful at Fulham and the second Man City game was unbelievable. Portsmouth was another one which, thankfully, went our way - as did Charlton.

"I've known eventful times, but this was different in its own way. Losing in that way to City was one-off circumstances and I think we put it right on Saturday and Wednesday. The most important thing was to get the points in the league and the way we did it in the end showed a lot of character and bottle after the first midweek result."

Michael describes his own performances during this period as 'steady', explaining that he is performing a role for the team before hopefully soon bringing the offensive side of his game into play.

"It is going steady. I've changed my game a little bit from when I was at Sheffield and I'm doing a bit more of the dog work really. The team has needed that, it is one thing that has been put to me to do and I've going no problem with that to help the team out.

"I'd like to get on the ball, push forward and maybe get a goal or two, but the most important thing is the team at the moment," added the player who has given a tenacity to the midfield along with lots of energy.

"People have been saying that is what was missing a little bit and I am trying to do it. I would like to bring the other side of my game in but, first and foremost, I've got to do what will keep me in the team.

"Obviously at Sheffield I had more opportunity to do that, but here we have lots of players with the ability to do special things. You've got to pick your time to push up and try and get those goals, at the moment I am playing the ball to the likes of Keane and Defoe to go and get their goals.

"I have no problem with that, as I say, as long as the team is doing well."

Meanwhile, Michael reports that the settling in process is going well and the international break will be spent sorting out his new house.

"I got my house a week ago. I'm settling in, there are boxes everywhere and cardboard at the windows until I get the curtains sorted.

"I am starting to get settled, the games have been coming thick and fast, but we've got a little break now and I will get everything sorted out."
