Christian Ziege has fond memories of playing against Birmingham City - a side he won his first medal in English football against.
The German international was a substitute for Liverpool against the Blues in the 2001 Worthington Cup final and left his mark on the game by netting his penalty in the nailbiting shootout won by the Merseysiders.
The massive underdogs on the day in Cardiff made something of an impression on Christian.
"I have to say that, when I played them, they were in the first division and they were already a good side," recalled the 30-year-old.
"It was a tough game, I came on and the game went into extra-time and then penalties. I took one and it is always good to have a German player in your side when you have penalties! You won't lose then...
"They played well in Cardiff and I think it will be hard on Saturday as well."
Christian reports that he has suffered no ill-effects from his first team comeback against Leeds on Sunday and feels he now just needs more games to get back to his best.
"I hope it continues like it is at the moment. Every day, fitness-wise, I am getting better and I just think I need some more games to get back to my old level of fitness.
"It's just good to be back."
