May the fourth be with Robbo (again)
Tottenham Hotspur (Spurs) Football Club is located in North London. The club is also known as Spurs. Tottenham's home ground is White Hart Lane. The club motto is Audere est Facere (To dare is to do).
Paul Robinson can turn the clock back to May 4, 2003, if he needs any extra inspiration before Saturday's North London derby.
That's when Leeds United pulled off arguably the shock result of the 2002-03 season to escape relegation and end Arsenal's championship hopes at Highbury.
Robbo was in goal for a Leeds side desperate for a result to avoid the drop - Arsenal were slugging it out with Manchester United for the title.
No-one gave Leeds a chance but they triumphed 3-2 thanks to Mark Viduka's winner two minutes from time. It is the last time Arsenal lost in the Premiership at Highbury.
"It was brilliant," reflected Robbo at Spurs Lodge this week. "We were struggling at Leeds at that point and knew we had to go to Arsenal with more tough games to follow and we were really thinking whether or not we could avoid relegation.
"So to go there and win with a goal in the last couple of minutes and stop them winning the title was unbelievable.
"I'm sure it would have been great for the Spurs fans at the time. The Leeds fans feel the same way about United as well so although they were delighted we were staying up, in the same instance they weren't too happy because we'd just handed United the title!"
Leeds were bossed at the time by Peter Reid and Robbo recalled a simple game plan. "We just got stuck into them," he said.
"We had nothing to lose, no-one expected us to win and Peter Reid said to get about them and if we matched them, hopefully our quality would come through and we'd get the rub of the green. We did all that and it was a great day all round."
