May Hotspur - out now!
It's already been a big season for young midfielder Jake Livermore whose own impressive performances for Spurs clearly illustrates how well manager Harry Redknapp is using the loan system to develop our emerging players.
Jake is the main interview in the latest issue of Hotspur magazine and he features in another exclusive photo shoot at Spurs Lodge.
Livermore, who will also give away a signed match shirt to one lucky reader, is understandably delighted at the chances coming his way at White Hart Lane.
That’s not just because of the progress it illustrates - but also because he’s always been an ardent Spurs fan.
Yet, while playing locally as a youngster, he understandably attracted interest from Arsenal - although he insists such an option was never a consideration!
“It had to be Tottenham, it couldn’t have been anywhere else - and thankfully Spurs also wanted me,” he tells Hotspur. “I’m proud to be a Spurs player and when I was 16 and told that they would take me on full-time, I could not have been happier.
“This season has been an absolute rollercoaster for me, it’s been brilliant. I’m just hoping that I can make the same progress next season when hopefully we’ll have another good campaign.”
Jermain Defoe is also featured as he moves into the Top 10 of our greatest goalscorers of all time while Rafael van der Vaart talks of the massive progress made at Tottenham since his arrival two years ago.
We speak with all our players about who they rate as their most difficult individual opponent so far this season - and then put all the names together to come up with an outstanding Premier League XI. This team would take some stopping - but there are a few names in there that might surprise you.
Another fascinating feature sees goalkeeper Brad Friedel take us on a walking tour of his home town - Bay Village in Ohio.
Classical musician Paul Bateman, who originates from Muswell Hill, tells us why he loves Spurs and we also take a look at our Cup-winning Spurs Ladies team and talk with GB hockey goalkeeper Beth Storry, who dropped in for a training session with Brad and the lads at Spurs Lodge.
We mark the 50th anniversary of our 1962 FA Cup triumph by looking back with Cliff Jones and Ossie Ardiles reports from Japan in his latest exclusive column. As the Premier League celebrates 20 years, we reflect on some of our best seasons and chat to former player Andy Sinton who is now manager of AFC Telford United in the Conference.
Historian Andy Porter goes into great detail about our Olympic Connections in a very timely four-page focus and we look back on the life and times of former players like Danny Blanchflower, Jimmy Cantrell and Bill Bann.
It’s all in Hotspur magazine - together with a whole lot more. Don’t miss it.
