Mauricio on Toby's scan result: 'It's all clear'

18 October 2016|Tottenham Hotspur

Mauricio Pochettino revealed the result of Toby Alderweireld’s scan after Tuesday night’s goalless draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League – and it’s encouraging news for the Belgian international.

Centre-back Toby was carried off on a stretcher during the second half of Saturday’s Premier League match at West Bromwich Albion after taking a knock to his knee and missed our clash with the Bundesliga side.

He has since undergone a scan and, post-match in Germany, Mauricio provided an update on the defender’s condition and was asked whether he will be available for Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth.

“It's difficult for the weekend because it's still painful for him but it's important that the scan was all clear,” he said. “We'll now see. If he's not involved this weekend, maybe for the next few games (he can be available).

“But the important information is that the scan was good."
