Mauricio on Toby Alderweireld's injury and an update on Erik Lamela

Mauricio Pochettino had good news on Toby Alderweireld’s injury after the 2-2 draw at City on Saturday.

The defender departed the action on 65 minutes after feeling tightness in his right hamstring.

However, Mauricio explained it was more of a precautionary measure. “He felt tight in his hamstring but I don’t believe it’s a big issue,” said the manager at the Etihad Stadium. “We’ll know better in a few days but it doesn’t look bad.”

Meanwhile, Mauricio had news on Erik Lamela, who underwent a scan on his hip injury on Friday.

“The result was the same so now it’s about how he adapts his programme," said Mauricio. "Now he’ll start to run. It’s positive, now it’s about building his fitness and to try to challenge the pain he feels in his hip, but I think this will be positive.”
