Match Report - West Ham U19 v Tottenham Hotspur Under 19 - 15 Nov 2003

U18 Academy South

FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE

West Ham U19s 1-0 Spurs

A debated penalty proved the difference between the sides as our Under-19s run of victories came to an end at West Ham.

But coach Pat Holland had few complaints and was generally disappointed with the performance.

Coach Pat reflected: "Both sides were evenly matched although it wasn't a terrific game. They had a couple of breaks and Nicky Eyre (pictured) made a couple of great saves and at half-time I thought they were the better side.

"I didn't think we'd played as well as we might have done on the back of our recent run.

"They had a series of free-kicks that caused us problems and we didn't deal with one that came back off the post and Ricky Dobson was penalised for falling and apparently handling it.

"It was one of those that could have gone our way on another day but to be honest, they deserved it.

"We never really got it going at all. We had a couple of half-chances but it was disappointing and a little flat."

Spurs U19s: Eyre, Ifil, Francis, Barnett (McKie, 65), Foster, Dobson, McKenna (Hicks, 70), Barcham, Slabber, O'Hara, Wettner. Unused sub: Jenkins.
