Match Report - Tottenham Hotspur Under 19 v Reading U19 - 15 Feb 2003

FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE

Spurs U19s 1-1 Reading

Mark Hughes rescued a point for our Under-19s after what coach Pat Holland described as a disappointing display against Reading.

Hughes struck in the last minute to cancel out Reading's first half opener after the lads enjoyed plenty of possession but carved out few chances.

Pat explained: "Out of all the games we've had this season, it would possibly rank as the most disappointing simply because we have been playing well and I didn't think we got started.

"We never really created anything. We got into one or two good areas but it wasn't convincing.

"They scored after 44 minutes, cut out a pass and shot home from the edge of the box, a goal we could have done better with defensively.

"In the second half again there wasn't enough creativity although that's one area where we've been doing well.

"In the end Reading could probably count themselves a little unlucky because we scored a minute from time. It was a little disappointing after the standards we've set ourselves."

Spurs U19s: Rutherford, Ifil, McKie, Hughes, Henry, Dobson, Barnett (Foster), Noto (Yeates, 65), Malcolm, Black (Price, 65), Wettner. Unused subs: Eyre, McKenna.
