Spurs U19s 3-1 Millwall
The prolific strike-force of Michael Malcolm and Andy Barcham were among the goals once more on Saturday as our Under-19s beat Millwall at Spurs Lodge.
The victory made it three wins on the spin for Pat Holland’s side and five games unbeaten since our 2-0 reverse at home to Reading in September.
It didn’t take long for the game to spark into life, with two very early goals. Millwall opened the scoring on two minutes but Barcham was on target for us two minutes later and it was 1-1 before the match had really settled down. Barcham’s strike was his fourth goal in five games for the Under-19s to add to his three in three for the younger team.
Then on the half hour mark, Malcolm got in on the goalscoring act, putting us 2-1 ahead with his sixth goal in eight matches and we never relinquished the lead after that.
Five minutes into the second half, the points were wrapped up when David Hicks opened his account for the season to make it 3-1 with a drive from the edge of the box.
Said Pat Holland: "This was arguably our best performance of the season. It's always a tough game against Millwall and this was no exception, but the team played very well and I was extremely pleased with their display. It was a fully deserved victory."
