Spurs U19s 2-1 Ipswich Town
Michael Malcolm struck twice as our U19s came from a goal behind to beat Ipswich Town.
The striker pounced after 70 and 86 minutes with the winner just moments after the visitors had hit the woodwork.
Coach Pat Holland takes up the story: "It was a frustrating game. We had a strong team with five third years and we were up against a younger Ipswich side who played a 4-5-1 system and the boys found that quite hard to break down.
"We came in at half-time at 0-0, neither side created much and we had a lot of possession without the penetration.
"Five or six minutes into the second half they played a ball into the box, a lad got across our full-back and headed home and suddenly we're 1-0 down.
"But we kept going and Phil Ifil, who made a lot of support runs, eventually got into the box, crossed for Michael Malcolm who pulled away from his defender and tucked the ball into the bottom corner.
"We brought Ricky Dobson on and Owen Price to give us a little pace but we stuttered again. It looked like it would be 1-1 but then they broke and hit the post and then a long ball, Michael did ever so well, battled with the defender, got possession and drilled it into the bottom corner.
"Overall, we had more possession but if I'm being honest, Ipswich can count themselves a little unlucky."
