Spurs U19s 2-0 Charlton
Jamie Slabber followed up his heroics in the FA Youth Cup with a double as the U19s toppled Charlton on Saturday.
Slabber struck late at the Lane last week to secure a 1-0 win against Swindon Town in the fourth round of the FAYC but he didn't have to wait as long on Saturday, slotting home from the penalty spot just before the break.
He was in the right place at the right time to double the lead after 65 minutes and although Charlton came into the game after that, the points were safe.
Coach Pat Holland reflected: "It wasn't a classic but we deserved to win.
"We certainly deserved the lead in the first half although I don't think Charlton were too pleased with the penalty decision after some good play between Nicky Wettner and Jamie Slabber sent away Mark Yeates, who then went down in the box.
"We could have gone 2-0 up early in the second half but their keeper pulled off a great save to deny Jamie but we were the better side and we got the second from a quick corner, Ben Bowditch touched the ball onto the post and Jamie was there for the rebound.
"We lost our way a little after that, they came more into it, but we kept another clean sheet and the lads are doing well at the moment."
Spurs U19s: Rutherford, Ifil, Galbraith, Tyrie, Bowditch, Foster, Barnett (Malcolm, 80), Yeates, Slabber, Noto (Black, 75), Wettner. Unused subs: Burch, Perry.
