Spurs U17s 3-0 Southampton
Coach Jimmy Neighbour described Saturday's performance as the 'best of the season' from his young U17 side.
Again fielding six schoolboys, the lads outplayed the Saints and coasted to victory via Andy Barcham, Jamie O'Hara and Charlie Lee.
A delighted Jimmy reflected: "It was a good performance and we passed the ball well.
"We had a young team out again, started with six schoolboys which is more than we usually start with.
"We scored after about nine minutes when Andy Barcham got onto a header from Kieran McKenna, got beyond the defenders and scored a great lob over the keeper as he advanced.
"It was good skill, a well-taken goal and that set us up for a good performance on the day.
"We went in 1-0 up, never really in trouble and we played some good football again in the second half.
"The second goal came a couple of minutes in when Charlie Lee put a great cross in and Jamie O'Hara headed it back across the keeper.
"The third goal was from a corner kick, Gareth Jenkins took it and Charlie got across again.
"This time of year first and second years are being released and more first year boys are being pushed into Under-19 football. That's what we're doing as well.
"So you are playing against 16s as well as having 16s in your own team.
"You've still got to play and the important thing is that the boys are trying to listen and learn to what we tell them and that's what they did on Saturday.
"It was the best performance this season and hopefully they'll take heart from that and keep progressing."
