Match Report - Tottenham Hotspur U17 v Reading U17 - 28 Feb 2004

U17 Academy South

The under-17s - featuring nine schoolboys - overcame Reading by a 4-1 scoreline at Spurs Lodge on Saturday.

Coach Jimmy Neighbour takes up the story...

"It was quite a tough game, Reading took the lead while the game was quite even for the first half an hour.

"We came back into with a penalty when Simon Dawkins was bought down in the area. Stuart Lewis scored from the spot and we went in level at the break.

"Reading had a player sent off about 15 minutes into the second half and that put the game our way and it was really a question of how many we would score.

"We created quite a lot and could have scored more than the four we did do. They got a penalty and missed it, before Dawkins got two goals and we scored from a penalty through Mark Wright.

"It was a solid team performance and the second half was very good. It was a good result for us."
