Spurs U17s 2-2 Reading
Reading's late, late show undid what was, until the final minutes, an impressive display by our Under-17s.
The game could and arguably should have been out of reach after Jimmy Neighbour's boys dominated but Reading rescued a point with two goals at the death.
We took the lead after 14 minutes when Owen Price (pictured) unleashed an unstoppable free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards.
Further chances came and went as both Iyad Ahmed and Price struck the woodwork but we doubled the lead just before the break.
Price was again involved as his corner was met by Gareth Jenkins and his header was deflected home.
Our football wasn't as bright after the break but we were still on top as Michael Malcolm this time struck the post and the Reading goalkeeper produced a string of fine saves.
However, the visitors were handed a lifeline with a minute to go via a defensive error and, just a minute later, it was 2-2 when Reading's next attack produced an unlikely equaliser.
Boss Jimmy reflected: "In the first half we played some neat, tidy football, kept it well and basically dominated.
"We scored twice, Owen's free-kick was a super strike and hit the woodwork a couple of times.
"We were a bit more sloppy in the second half but never really looked in trouble but as the half went on, we started to look tired.
"Reading's physical presence took over, we gifted them a goal, the heads went down and they scored straight away again from the kick-off.
"We should have wrapped it up. We need to finish better and cope better when we're under pressure. We were only under pressure for a short period but didn't deal with it. That's something the lads will have to improve if they want to go further."
