Match Report - Tottenham Hotspur U17 v Ipswich Town U17 - 14 Dec 2002

U17 Academy South

FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE

Spurs U17s 1-1 Ipswich Town

Iyad Ahmed struck in the final minute to earn our U17s a deserved share of the spoils against Ipswich Town.

Trailing 1-0 at half-time, Ahmed's effort was too hot to handle for the visiting goalkeeper as the lads recovered to grab a point after Owen Price has been sent off.

Coach Jimmy Neighbour took up the story. "We started brightly and created three or four opportunities in and around the box.

"The second half was a similar story and to be honest we never really looked like scoring, something the boys will have to work on.

"Owen Price then got sent off after about 70 minutes but the 10 men responded well and with a minute left, Iyad cut in from the left and his shot beat the keeper. We deserved that. I was pleased with the performance."

Spurs U17s: Eyre, Lee (Watson, 70), Francis, Hicks, Hodges, Dobson, Ahmed, Price, McKenna, Barcham (Jones, 70), Jenkins. Unused subs: Forecast, Welch, Wright.
