Spurs U17s 5-0 Palace
Jimmy Neighbour was delighted with this five-star performance against Crystal Palace.
Scott Thyer (pictured) was highly involved with two goals and being brought down for Charlie Daniels' penalty.
The lads stormed into a 3-0 half-time lead with Thyer, Andy Barcham and Daniels on target. Thyer quickly added number four after the break before schoolboy Simon Dawkins wrapped it up.
Coach Jimmy takes up the story. "The lads played really well. We started well and dominated most of the game. Palace had quite a young side out but you still have to play these teams and they've had one or two good results as well, so to beat them 5-0 was a terrific effort.
"The first goal came from Scott Thyer who broke through and hit a shot that the goalkeeper might have done better on but it was still a decent strike that crept in the corner.
"The second was a well-worked corner where Charlie Lee won the header and Andy Barcham scored from a tap in.
"The third was a penalty where Scott was brought down by the keeper and Charlie Daniels stuck away a great penalty in the corner.
"The fourth just after half-time was Scotty again, great cross from Charlie Daniels and he got on the end of it in the box, top corner.
"I was delighted with the fifth goal from Simon Dawkins, a schoolboy who came on as sub and took a good goal.
"We finished with seven schoolboys on and that's good, whoever you play. I was delighted for them."
